The Secretary of Economy announce that Mexico received 23.230 billion USD of FDI in 2008. It is the highest figure received since 2001.

Mexico established the National Infrastructure Fund to assist the infrastructure program of the country. This Fund started whit 3.9 billion USD, to finance resources in the amount of 25 billion USD during the next 5 years. This Fund was established in Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Publicos ( The governmental infrastructure entity) The amounts mentioned above are additional to the federal yearly budget in the infrastructure sectors.
